About the race
Tour De Yr Wyddfa is a winter race around Yr Wyddfa on 23 January 2027. The full circuit covers 43.5 km with 2327 m of ascent. Options include whole, half (Llanberis to Pen y Pas), two-person relay and pair entries.
The organiser provides a GPX file for the route but notes that GPX use is not permitted during the race. Course notes and a route PDF are available. Key check points on the route include Rhydd Du, Nant Gwynant (cut off 12:00), Pen-y-Pass (cut off 12:15 for full entries and 13:00 for half entries), the path junction above Idwal Cottage (cut off 14:45) and Gwastadnant.
Experience requirements are stated: the full route requires three AL races or equivalent unmarked winter experience; the half route requires three AL or AM races or equivalent experience. A minimum kit list is specified and includes fully taped waterproofs top and bottom, two warm layers, long sleeve base layer and full length bottoms, hat and winter gloves, bivvy bag, map and compass, at least 0.5 litre water bottle, food and emergency food, torch, whistle and mobile phone.
