Tour De Yr Wyddfa
Tour De Yr Wyddfa is a winter mountain race that follows a route around Yr Wyddfa. The event date is 23/01/2027. Route options include solo and team formats, and a GPX route file is provided.
Distances and main options:
- Full: 43.5 km, ascent 2327 m
- Half: 24 km, ascent 800 m, start Llanberis to Pen y Pas
- Relay: two-person relay covering the full route
- Pair: full route run by a pair
Entry categories require prior mountain or fell experience. For the full route, entrants should have completed three AL races or equivalent unmarked winter experience. For the half route, three AL or AM races or equivalent experience are expected.
Competitors must carry minimum safety and survival kit. Required items include fully taped waterproofs top and bottom, two warm layers with long sleeves and full length bottoms, hat and winter gloves, a bivvy bag, map and compass, at least 0.5 litre water bottle, food and emergency food, torch, whistle, and a mobile phone.
The organiser will only hold the race if there are enough participants; refunds will be issued if the event cannot be held. The event is presented by Eryri Harriers and takes place in winter conditions on mountain terrain. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
