A short but demanding downhill on Tryfan covering 1 km with 680 m climb, on rocky and exposed terrain. The race requires significant experience and expert navigation, and carries a small entry fee for Ogwen Mountain Rescue.

Phoenix Afterglow is the third event in Phoenix Running's 2026 Summer Series, featuring timed laps on a 5.3 km out and back course along the River Mersey. Participants have a seven hour limit and receive a finishers' medal.

An 8.8 km (5.5 mile) fell run around Pen Y Gwely reservoir near Rhydycroesau, featuring tracks, paths and fields with 225 m of climb. The course is partially marked, entry is £7 on the day and the minimum age is over 15.

A 10 mile trail race through Radnor forest in Mid Wales on 23 August 2026, held in aid of the Special Care Baby Unit in Hereford. The route reaches Black Mixen at 2130 ft and includes forestry roads, moorland and tree covered single track.

Golf Ball Fell Race is organised by Rossendale Harriers on 26 August 2026. Entry is on the day and runners should carry the recommended FRA kit, which may be checked depending on conditions.

A midweek fell race near Bury covering about 6.5 km with 400 m of climb, held at the Hare & Hounds. The event allows teams, requires a minimum age of 16, and has a 1 hour 10 minute cutoff at Moorbottom Road.

A non stop 130 mile canal towpath race from Liverpool to Leeds run under UK Athletics rules. Open to runners aged 20 and over, the event has a 40 hour limit and a limited number of unsupported entries with regular feed points.

Tackle a classic Pennines fell race in Pendleton on 29 August 2026. The 8 km course packs 457 m of ascent across rough terrain, with on the day entries and homemade cakes and a cosy village pub to reward you.

A hill race near Porthmadog covering 7.2 km with 564 m of ascent, partially marked and requiring navigational skills and experience. Entry is day only for £5 and teams may enter free.

Join the Dark Side Of The Combe on Mon 31 Aug 2026 in the Lake District as part of the Black Combe Country Fair at Bootle. This 12.5 km fell race with 625 m ascent is a tough, scenic test and has on the day entry.

A 7.4 km mountain race with 380 m ascent in the Clwydian Range, held during the Cilcain Show. It includes senior inter-regional and North Wales regional championships, junior races with free entry, and on-site facilities.

September 2026

A short evening fell race of about 8 km and 360 m ascent featuring a tough opening climb, a rollercoaster route over local summits and a field finish. Mandatory FRA kit, an enforced cut off on Brown Wardle and a minimum age of 18 apply.

A trail 5k around Clowbridge Reservoir on a popular route off the Pennine Bridleway. The event is the first of a three race autumn series on 3, 10 and 17 September 2026 and is open to runners aged 11 and over.

Experience an endurance challenge along the coast with solo and relay options ranging from 50 to 130 miles. This multi day event features strictly timed checkpoints and self navigation in a stunning natural environment.

A multi-terrain off-road race of about 4 miles in Shotton on 4 September 2026, with pre-entry fees (£10, £8 affiliated), prize categories by age, a minimum age of 17, and a 200-person entry limit.

Two linked fell races on Kinder in the Peak District on 5 September 2026: Groovy (24.5 km, 1270 m, Category AL) and Groovy Baby (15.5 km, 650 m, Category BM). Single entry covers both, 200 runner limit, mandatory kit and navigation required..

A five-stage endurance race in the Lake District on Saturday 5 September 2026, combining a lake swim, two road-bike legs, a mountain ascent to Scafell Pike and a short trail run. The course totals 112 km with about 6,916 ft of ascent.

A 102 mile self navigation ultramarathon across Snowdonia Eryri with 5,172 m of ascent, 11 checkpoints and a 42 hour cut off. Entrants need prior 50 mile ultramarathon experience, mandatory mountain kit and GPS tracking.
