Trail Running Calendar Scotland 2025-2026

With 108 trail races in Scotland lined up for the 2025-2026 season, there's a race for every level of runner. In Glasgow, take on the challenge of the city's lush parks, where the trails are as welcoming as the locals. Transition to the cobbled streets and ancient edifices of Edinburgh, where running is not just exercise but a communion with history, as you breeze past the iconic silhouette of Edinburgh Castle and Arthur's Seat, the city's very own mountain.

Heading northeast, Aberdeen's coastal trails offer a refreshing run with the North Sea as your companion, or venture into Dundee, where the revitalized waterfront serves as a picturesque starting line for a running experience filled with scenic views and a fresh, maritime air.

Just outside the hustle and bustle, Paisley presents a runner’s paradise with its undulating hills, a test of endurance. Lastly, East Kilbride calls to nature lovers with its tranquil woodland trails, where the peace and quiet of the forest canopy creates an idyllic backdrop for both the casual jogger and the competitive sprinter.

MTC SELKIE is a first edition 42 mile single day ultra on 3 June 2028, part of the Mount to Coast SCOTIA series. The coastal route from Dornoch to Dunbeath offers challenging terrain, bespoke finisher medals and strict safety kit rules.

Tackle a 38 mile coastal ultra from Dunbeath to John O'Groats on 4 June 2028. Limited field and a bespoke KELPIE medal make this scenic but demanding challenge ideal for seasoned runners.

July 2029

Take on MTC ALBION 2029, a 13 day, 503 mile end to end ultra from Gretna Green to Land's End, testing endurance across England. Limited to 20 entries, this supported challenge offers daily stages, tracking and a bespoke finishers trophy.

The MTC Boggart is an inaugural 38 mile single day ultra from Gretna Green to Penrith, blending classic countryside running with a friendly field. Limited entries, bespoke finisher medals and trophies for overall winners.
