Zz Trot

Event

The ZZ TROT is scheduled for January 24, 2026, at Kreische Brewery & Monument Hill State Historic Sites in La Grange, Texas. The event includes a trail 5k, two separate 1-mile time trials, and a kids trail run. Distances offered include:

• 5 km - Sharp Dressed 5K
• 1 mile - Tush 1-Mile Time Trial (counter-clockwise)
• 1 mile - La Grange 1-Mile Time Trial (clockwise)

Other options listed are a Tres Hombres Challenge (entry to all three events with individual and aggregated results), a Sharp Dressed 5k Virtual package, and a concert ticket for the live ZZ Top tribute band, Three Hombres.

Course and format

The course uses park terrain that includes wider top pathways, grass areas, rocky single-track and double-track down the ravine, and a section of stone stairs above the old brewery. The 5k route includes an initial shorter loop with a stair climb to the historic homestead and then follows the outer trail loop. Expect about 500 ft of elevation gain/loss on the 5k and about 250 ft per mile on the outer loop. The event day begins with the 5k in wave starts based on estimated finish time, followed by individual time trial loops where runners start at 30-second intervals.

Registration and entries
