Event overview

The St Andrews Day Challenge is a timed trail event on 30 November 2025. Participants choose between a 6-hour or a 4-hour timed option and run as many laps of the circuit as they can within their chosen time. The course uses a multi-terrain 5.3 km lap over gravel footpaths and grass. Lap counts are used to mark common distances: a heavy half marathon is listed as 5 laps (with options to change on the day), and an ultra marathon is listed as 9 laps (with the possibility to increase laps up to about 12, depending on time). An aid station is positioned at the lap point each circuit. The event has a maximum of 100 entrants, an age minimum of 18 years, and entries close on 29 November 2025. Finishers receive a bespoke event medal unless a Lucky Dip finishers medal option is chosen. Virtual places are available for remote completion.

Location and logistics

The event takes place at Brandon Country Park in the heart of Thetford Forest, postcode IP27 0SU. Brandon railway station is about 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from the park. Parking at the park is chargeable and marshals will direct vehicles on the day. Race HQ and the base camp are at the start/lap point where bib collection, a water/aid station, and baggage space are provided; baggage is left at the owner’s risk. The organisers describe the terrain as suitable for road trainers, with trail shoes optional depending on prior weather.
