Zane Grey Highline Trail Runs : April 18, 2026

The 36th annual Zane Grey Highline Trail Runs take place Saturday April 18, 2026 in Christopher Creek, Arizona. The races start and finish on the 70 acre Mountain Meadow Ranch property near Payson.

The event offers the following distances:

  • 50 mile about 86% singletrack and approximately 6,500 ft of climbing
  • 50K about 90% singletrack and approximately 4,400 ft of climbing

Both courses use maintained sections of the Highline Trail and remove the burn area known as Hell's Gate from the route. The 50 mile course includes multiple stream crossings and extended views across the Mogollon Rim on the southern edge of the Colorado Plateau. The 50K covers much of the same terrain while omitting the final 19 miles of the longer route.

The race is hosted at Mountain Meadow Ranch and lists course details and results through its event pages. The description focuses on trail surface, elevation gain, natural features, and the start and finish location on the Mountain Meadow Ranch property in Christopher Creek.
