Wise Raven Trail Race

Wise Raven Trail Race : Camp Heidelberg, Waterloo

The event takes place on a 2.5 km loop through a well marked trail forest on the Camp Heidelberg property, Kressler Road, Waterloo, ON. From the start-finish area runners follow a fast, flat section past a covered aid station toward the Camp Heidelberg pond. The course is mainly fast, groomed trails with some short technical sections featuring rocks and roots and a few rolling hills. Each loop has approximately 45 m of elevation gain. October weather can include rain or snow; participants should be prepared. There is ample space to set up a drop bag at the aid station.

The race is limited to 115 spots and is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. Distances and formats offered:

• 5 km 2 loops
• 10 km 4 loops
• 25 km 10 loops
• 50 km 20 loops
• 6 hour individual and relay options

The 6 hour relay allows teams of 2 to 4 members; an ankle timing chip is passed between runners at the end of each loop. All events are electronically timed by Chiptime Results. The aid station supplies water, pop, electrolytes, assorted candy, chips, pickles and sometimes PB&J sandwiches and pie. This is a cup-less event so bring a water bottle. No dogs or alcohol are allowed on the property. Refunds are not offered; runners may defer to the following year and distance transfers are permitted under the stated conditions.
