Winter Thaw Out Race Series - Glassboro, NJ
The Winter Thaw Out Race Series is a set of four 5k trail races held from February 22 to March 15, 2026, at Elephant Swamp Trail in Elk Township Recreational Park near Glassboro, NJ. The trail surface is hard packed and gravel, described as free of roots and not technical.
Races are scored with a point system for overall places and age-group places; the organizer gives 10 points for first, 9 for second as an example of the scoring method. Awards for overall and age-group winners are presented at the end of the series rather than after each race. All participants in the series receive a medal at the end of the series.
A $20 discount applies when registering for all four races at once; that discount is applied automatically at checkout. Participants who register for the full series receive a custom neck scarf, with registration by February 11 required to guarantee the scarf. Hot chocolate is available at every race.
The park does not have a dedicated street address; the listed address refers to the police station next to the park. Elk Township Recreational Park may not appear in all GPS systems; Aura Elementary School across the street can be used as an alternative reference. Races are produced by Even Kiel Racing.
