The Winnetka Turkey Trot is scheduled for Thursday, November 27, 2025, on the Green Bay Trail at Winnetka Train Station (754 Elm St, Winnetka, IL 60093). The event offers a 5k distance with distinct "5k Speedy Trotters" and "Family Trot" divisions and uses a rolling start format. The race supports two charities: The WINGS Program, Inc. and Camp Thunderbird Charitable Foundation. Results are posted online at j3timing.com. There are no awards; all children receive a #1 medal.

Logistics

Packet pickup is required and is available at Road Runner Sports, 3232 Lake Avenue, Wilmette, IL 60091 on dates before the race (friends may pick up packets for others). Race day registration is available for cash or check only; shirts are not guaranteed on race day. Due to course congestion there will be no water station on course; post-race water and granola bars will be provided at the finish area and main building. Parking is available in public lots and on-street. No refunds. The organizer and the municipality reserve the right to change the course. Run the Fast Track Cross Country Open in Schaumburg on Sunday November 9 with separate men and women races on a scenic 3.05 mile looped grass course. Open to all ages and abilities, teams are welcome.

Run 10K, 25K, 50K or 50 Miler loops at Deer Grove Forest Preserve West in Palatine. Mostly wide non technical trails, a single aid station, pacers allowed for 50 Miler after four loops, and on course shenanigans promise a fun day.

Run scenic trails at Teason's Woods in Palos Hills on May 9, 2026 with marathon or 10 Mile options over rolling terrain and shared two way trails. Enjoy event apparel, a wooden sunflower medal for finishers, plus post race chili and beer.

Take on a 4 mile loop through Wolf Road Woods in the Palos Preserves with 7 hour and 11 hour timed options. Enjoy rolling single track, hearty aid station fare and live lap scoring as you chase your endurance goals.
