Ashley Heath, United Kingdom • 26 Dec 2025

Event

WIM Boxing Day Canter 2025 is a one-hour score orienteering event with a mass start. The course contains 25 controls, each worth 10 points, plus 3 bonus controls (Father Christmas, a Christmas tree and Fairies) each worth 50 points. Punching uses the SI system.

Course and map

The map is A3 at 1:10,000 and is printed on waterproof material. Controls are SIAC-enabled; hired dibbers are not SIAC, so competitors using hired dibbers will need to punch every control. Results will be posted on the club website.

Entry and hire fees are: Senior £10, dibber hire £2.
Junior £3, free dibber hire.
Student £3, free dibber hire.
Family group (includes one map) £10; dibber hire £2; extra maps £1 each.
A lost dibber will be charged £40. Juniors are defined as under 21 on 31/12/25.

The event is at Moors Valley Country Park, using the main entrance off Horton Road. Parking will be in the overflow car park and is charged at £3 via a QR code issued when parking. Visitor Centre facilities include toilets and a cafe. Dogs are allowed in Moors Valley but must be kept under control.

Other information

Registration is available before the mass start and hired dibbers should be collected prior to the start. The organiser may cancel in very bad weather and reserve the right to retain part of the entry fee to cover unrecoverable costs.
