Wild Mountain Winery Wine Run 5k
The event is a chip timed 5k run/walk held at Wild Mountain Winery, 16906 Wild Mountain Rd, Taylors Falls, MN. Registration includes a super soft ring spun cotton T-shirt, a shatterproof collapsible wine glass, a finisher medal, a race bib, results posted online, and a pour of wine at the finish.
The course starts and finishes at the winery and uses two laps. The route passes through the southern vineyards, follows a cross country path to the east, continues on a dirt road to the north, then returns through the northern vineyard and scenic trails. Runners should expect some uneven terrain and several short, steep inclines.
Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each 10-year category: 19 & under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70-79; 80 & over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. There will be no formal award ceremony; results are posted online and age group awards are available for pickup on event day.
The local charity partner is the Almelund Fire & Rescue Department. The department is volunteer staffed, serves roughly 90 square miles and about 3,000 residents, and provides fire and medical protection for several townships and nearby recreational areas.
Packet pickup is race day only. Minors may participate and receive a reduced registration that includes a shirt, medal, and bib; minors do not receive a wine glass or a pour of wine. Dogs are not allowed on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
