Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest - Airlie Beach, 13 September 2026
The Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest is a multi-distance trail running event held at the Airlie Beach race precinct and foreshore on 13 September 2026. The festival marks its 20th year since the original trail event began in 2005 and is organized by the Whitsunday Running Club in its 11th year of hosting.
Race options include:
- WTF58 Accom Whitsunday Ultra 58 km
- WTF28 Whitsunday Trail 28 km
- Honeyeater Shokz Challenge 11 km
- Kids Beach Bash events 700 m and about 1 mile
The WTF58 is an out and back course that ascends into Conway Circuit National Park. The first 28 km are self supported until the Brandy Creek checkpoint. Terrain includes fire trail, narrow walking tracks, steep sections, rocky surfaces and creek crossings. The WTF28 is a point to point run from Brandy Creek to Airlie Beach with minimal water stations and mandatory gear checks. The Honeyeater 11 km climbs toward a lookout over the Coral Sea and recommends adequate hydration. The Kids Beach Bash races follow out and back beach loops with distances affected by tides.
Cutoff times are specified for the trail distances. Age minimums apply for each event. Race packs include a numbered bib, pins and an event finishers medal. An event shirt is guaranteed only for entrants who register by 30 June 2026.
Fundraising efforts list a current total raised toward a A$1,000 goal and the event lists sponsors including Anaconda, Bendigo Community Bank and Accom Whitsunday plus in kind partners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
