Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest : Airlie Beach, QLD
The Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest takes place on Sunday 13 September 2026 at the Airlie Beach foreshore race precinct. The Whitsunday Running Club organises the event and is marking its 11th year as host while the festival itself marks its 20th year since the original 28 km event began in 2005.
Participants can choose from several distances and events:
- 58 km Accom Whitsunday Ultra out and back
- 28 km Whitsunday Trail point to point
- 11 km Honeyeater Shokz Challenge
- 1 mile Kids Beach Bash
- 700 m Junior Beach Bash
The WTF58 is an out and back course that ascends into Conway Circuit National Park. The first 28 km are effectively self supported until the Brandy Creek turnaround, and the terrain includes fire trail, narrow walking tracks, steep sections, rough surfaces and creek crossings. The WTF58 requires entrants to be at least 18 years old and to have relevant trail experience. The WTF28 is a point to point run from Brandy Creek to Airlie Beach; mandatory gear is checked at race pack collection and there are minimal water stations. The Honeyeater 11 km gains elevation toward a lookout over the Coral Sea and has an age minimum of 15. Kids events run along the Airlie Beach foreshore with distances that depend on tide and age categories.
Race packs and late entries are available from the race precinct on the day before the event. Entry benefits include an event shirt for registrations by 30 June 2026, a finishers medal, and numbered bib with pins. Sponsors include Anaconda, Bendigo Community Bank and Accom Whitsunday, with additional in kind supporters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
