Hamilton Island Hilly Half Marathon
The Hamilton Island Hilly Half Marathon is a trail running event on Hamilton Island, Great Barrier Reef, held on Sunday 2 May 2027. The full course is listed as 24 km and follows fire trails and walking tracks through the island’s undulating interior, featuring sustained uphill and downhill sections and varied terrain.
Entries are available for individuals and teams and include open and age group categories. Entry fees published for 2027 list general entry prices and junior rates. Entries close on Sunday 25 April 2027 and entry changes are permitted until 30 April 2027. Prize money and some event details are to be announced.
The event also offers a team relay category and a junior program with three distance options for younger competitors. Minimum ages are specified for each category: individuals must be at least 16 years, team competitors at least 14 years, and junior competitors aged 4 to 15 years. Race pack collection takes place at the Beach Pavilion on the day before the race and on race day and is compulsory; athletes must present identification and will receive a race singlet and sponsor items.
