Event Overview
The Hamilton Island Hilly Half Marathon is a 24 km individual running event. There is also a team relay option and a junior race with three distance options for children. The event takes place on Hamilton Island, within the Great Barrier Reef.

Event Details
The main individual and team relay race starts at the Beach Pavilion after a briefing. A separate junior race starts later the same morning, also from the Beach Pavilion. Participants can collect their race packs on the day before and on the morning of the event. Competitors can use free ferry transfers from Shute Harbour to Hamilton Island on race day. A post-race lunch is available for purchase, and medal presentations are held on-site.
Registration & Requirements
Registration closes on April 24, 2026. The event cost is $135 for an individual entry, $85 per team member, and $60 for a junior entry. Individual competitors must be at least 16 years old. Team members must be at least 14 years old. Junior competitors must be between 4 and 15 years old. No qualification is required for the open category.
