Hamilton Island Hilly Half Marathon
The Hamilton Island Hilly Half Marathon is scheduled for Sunday 2 May 2027 on Hamilton Island, Great Barrier Reef. The main event follows a rugged, roughly 24 km route with sustained uphill and downhill sections, using fire trails and walking tracks through the island's undulating interior.
Entries are offered for individual competitors and for team relays. A junior race provides three shorter distance options on a flatter course. Distances include:
- 24 km full length
- 3 km junior option
- 1.5 km junior option
- 500 m junior option
Age and entry details are specified: individual competitors must be at least 16 years old, team competitors at least 14 years old, and junior competitors aged 4 to 15 years. Published entry fees are $135 per individual, $85 per team member (teams of two or three), and $60 per junior entry. Entries close on Sunday 25 April 2027.
Race administration notes include compulsory race pack collection at the Beach Pavilion with identification required, a pre-race briefing at the Beach Pavilion, and rules such as disqualification for taking shortcuts and allowance of one earphone for mp3 use. Withdrawals before the event must be made in writing; cancellation on race day or withdrawal during the race carries a 100% cancellation fee.
