About the race
The Anaconda Whitsunday Trail Fest is scheduled for Sunday 13 September 2026 in Airlie Beach, QLD. The Whitsunday Running Club organises the event and marks its eleventh year as host; the festival itself celebrates its 20th year in 2026.
Races on the program:
- WTF58 Accom Whitsunday Ultra 58 km out-and-back through the Conway Circuit National Park
- WTF28 Whitsunday Trail 28 km point-to-point from Brandy Creek to Airlie Beach
- Honeyeater Shokz Challenge 11 km trail to a lookout over the Coral Sea
- Bendigo Community Bank Kids Beach Bash approximate 700 m loop (junior) and 1 mile for older children
Course and entry notes: the WTF58 includes an initial 28 km self-supported section, a mix of fire trail and narrow walking tracks, steep sections, rough footing and creek crossings; entrants must be at least 18 years old and experienced in trail running. The WTF28 requires mandatory gear checks and has minimal water stations; its cutoff time is 6 hours 30 minutes. The Honeyeater 11 km has a 3 hour cutoff and a minimum age of 15. Kids events have minimum ages of 4 and 8 respectively and run along the Airlie Beach foreshore.
Entry pack items are listed for race categories and include an event shirt (singlet guaranteed for entries by 30 June 2026), a finishers medal and a numbered bib. Sponsors for 2026 include Anaconda and regional partners. Fundraising for listed organisations is active with a stated goal and current amount raised.
