White River 50M/50K/25K : Greenwater, WA

The White River races are trail events held near Greenwater, Washington, in the Ranger Creek Campground area, beneath Mt Rainier. Courses run on forest roads, single track and ridge trails, with technical sections that include rocks, roots and exposed roads. GPS files and race maps are provided for each distance.

Distances

  • 50 Mile: 10,200 ft gain and loss, six full service aid stations, drop bags allowed.
  • 50K: 5,900 ft gain and loss, three full service aid stations, drop bags allowed.
  • 25K: ~3,700 ft gain and loss, one full service aid station, no drop bags or crew access.

The main 50M route passes the Palisades and climbs nearly 4,000 ft over about nine miles early in the course, then returns through ranger creek and ridge trails. The 50K follows the 50M course for roughly the first 28–30 miles before returning to the finish. The 25K follows the shared route to the Palisades and then takes the Ranger Creek Trail back to the start/finish.

Aid stations are stocked with water, electrolyte drink, snacks, basic first aid and some hygiene items. The event is cup less, so participants should bring a reusable cup, bottle or hydration pack. Primitive camping is available at the start/finish campground; a parking pass is required for each vehicle. The event is organized by Rainshadow Running and provides maps, GPX files and race rules for participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
