White River 50M/50K/25K - Greenwater, WA
A trail race set in the shadow of Tahoma (Mt. Rainier) with start/finish at Ranger Creek Campground (aka Buck Creek Recreation Area) near Snoquera/Greenwater, WA. The courses feature ridge tops, northwest forest, single-track trail, river crossings and sustained climbing.
Distances
- 50 Mile: 10,200 ft gain; 6 aid stations; mostly single-track ridges.
- 50K: 5,900 ft gain; 3 aid stations; follows the 50M for the first ~28–29 miles.
- 25K: ~3,700 ft gain; 1 aid station; reaches the Palisades then returns.
The route climbs to the Palisades with views of Mt. Rainier and the White River Valley, continues along ridgelines and several named trails (Palisades, Noble Knob, Ranger Creek, Sun Top, Skookum Flats), and finishes through northwest old-growth forest with rocky, rooty footing. The 50M includes a long descent from Sun Top followed by technical trail into the finish area.
Logistics note that drop bags are allowed for most distances (not for the 25K), crew access is limited to specific aid stations, and the event operates a cupless policy so runners should carry their own cup, bottle, or hydration pack. Primitive camping is available at the start/finish campground but a parking pass is required. GPX files and printable maps are provided for navigation. Race rules include visible bibs, single-ear headphones only, no pacers, and adherence to aid station cutoffs and course procedures. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
