Whitaker Wander

The Whitaker Wander is a trail event scheduled for May 9, 2026, in Whitaker Woods, North Conway, New Hampshire. The event features multiple participation options on a course consisting of wooded single-track paths, double-track paths, and grass sections. The trails are located at 2820 White Mountain Highway. This event utilizes electronic chip timing for participants.

The available distances include:

  • 5 km trail run and walk
  • 1 mile Kids' Fun Run
  • 1 mile walk for all ages

The 5 km course begins with a flat, one-mile wooded loop. After returning toward the athletic field, participants cross railroad tracks to begin an uphill section during the second mile. The final mile includes a gradual downhill section on single-track trails before crossing the tracks again to finish on a half-mile flat stretch of double-track path. The 1 mile options take place entirely on a flat double-track path.

Recognition is provided for top finishers in the open category for those up to age 55 and the masters category for those aged 55 and older. All participants in the kids' run receive recognition. The event is held regardless of rain or sun, though it may be canceled in the event of unsafe weather conditions. Proceeds from the event support the White Mountain Community Health Center, which provides primary care, dental, and behavioral health services.
