Whitaker Wander 2026

Whitaker Wander is a chip-timed trail run and walk taking place on May 9, 2026 at Whitaker Woods, 2820 White Mountain Highway, North Conway, New Hampshire. The event uses timing provided by Granite State Race Services.

The course is held rain or shine on 100% wooded single and double track paths and grass. The route begins with a flat, wooded loop for the first mile, returns briefly to an athletic field, then crosses railroad tracks and climbs during the second mile. The final mile follows gradual downhill single track trails, crosses the tracks again, and finishes with about a half mile of flat double track. A separate 1-mile Kids' Fun Run and a 1-mile Walk for all ages take place on a flat double track path.

Top finishers are recognized in two categories: open, up to age 55, and masters, age 55 and older. All kids' run participants receive recognition. The event supports White Mountain Community Health Center; proceeds fund programs such as a sliding fee scale and care coordinators. The health center provides primary care, dental care, substance use disorder treatment, dietitian services, sexual and reproductive health, and behavioral health services regardless of ability to pay. Registration is limited to 400 and online registration closes May 8, 2026. There are no refunds if the race is canceled due to severe weather; the event will be canceled only if conditions are unsafe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
