The Westcountry Ultra Hilly 50 is a 50 mile trail race held on Saturday 9 May 2026 around Minehead and the surrounding Somerset hills and coast. The route includes about 7,337 ft of elevation, a mix of coastal paths, ancient woodland, quiet lanes, moorland and village sections. The start and finish are at West Somerset College, Bircham Road, Minehead TA24 6AY. The race has a 16 hour cutoff and six aid stations. This is a cupless event so runners must carry at least one 500 ml water bottle and a cup if they want drinks at feed stations. Course markings use red and white tape and arrows where needed; the South West Coast Path has permanent signage and a GPX file is provided with race information.

Professional medical cover is provided and standard emergency procedures apply. Pacers are not allowed though an accompanying person for reassurance at night is permitted. Support crews may meet runners and hand supplies; drop bags may be left at registration labeled HILLY 50. Suggested personal kit includes a waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, extra base layer, headtorch and spare batteries, high visibility clothing, whistle, compass, charged phone and emergency food and foil blanket.
