Beacon to Beach : Channel Events
Beacon to Beach is a spring trail running event on Exmoor that returns after a six-year break. It is part of the West Somerset Running Festival and follows a linear route from Selworthy Beacon to Minehead Beach, mixing moorland, technical trails and woodland paths with a sandy finish on the beach.
Event headquarters are at The Adventure Centre, Warren Road, Minehead, Somerset TA24 5BG. Registration is handled on the morning at event HQ and all entrants must sign in there to be transported to the start. Shuttle buses will carry runners and supervising adults to the start and relay leg locations.
Distances:
- 10.3 km linear route for adults, age 16 and over.
- 10.3 km youth relay for 8 to 16 year olds, split into five legs (3 km, 2 km, 2 km, 2 km, 1.3 km).
Youth relay teams must include a supervising adult who remains in sight of participating children. Sixteen and seventeen year olds may enter the adult route with parental consent; under 8s are not permitted.
The event is cupless; entrants should bring a drinking vessel. Water will be available at the event hub, at relay leg points and at the finish. Trail running shoes are strongly advised for more technical sections. First aiders and marshals will be on site and photos will be taken by Image Works with proceeds to Exmoor Search and Rescue Team.
