Event Overview

The West Yorkshire Trail Run takes place within the grounds of Harewood House, an 18th-century estate spanning over 100 acres. The course utilizes the diverse landscape of the property, including woodlands, landscaped gardens, and areas surrounding a central lake. The route consists of off-road trails that guide participants through the natural environment of the West Yorkshire countryside.

Course Details

The route follows several distinct geographical features of the estate. Participants navigate winding tracks through Wall Side Plantation and ascend toward Sugar Hill, which provides elevated views of the grounds. The path passes near the filming sets of the television show Emmerdale and arrives at Eccup Reservoir, the largest body of water in the region. This area is known for its biodiversity, including various plant species and rare birds.

The return section of the trail leads through Carr Plantation and Piper Wood. These segments are characterized by large trees and native flora. The course also runs alongside the estate's lake before returning to the historic house. The terrain consists of established trails and paths within the wooded and lakeside areas.
