West Yorkshire Trail Run at Harewood House

The West Yorkshire Trail Run takes place on the grounds of the 18th-century Harewood House estate, set within more than 100 acres of landscaped parkland and woodland. Routes run through Wall Side Plantation, up Sugar Hill, past the Emmerdale set and along the shore of Eccup Reservoir.

The event offers three measured distances:

  • 22k Half Marathon - 262 m elevation gain
  • 13k Trail Run - 188 m elevation gain
  • 8k Trail Run - 102 m elevation gain

Terrain includes woodland paths, open trails and rolling parkland with varied off-road footing and gentle climbs. The outward route and return pass through Carr Plantation and Piper Wood and include lakeside sections near the estate.

Entries include chip timing, a metal finisher medal, a finisher goodie and a personalised certificate. On-course support comprises water stations, refreshments, first aid cover and marshals. The course is signed with pink arrows and pink tape; hazards and road junctions are marked with caution signs. Spectators are welcome.

Practical details for participants note that bib numbers are collected on arrival and participants should bring their QR code. The event is plastic free at water stations, so runners are asked to use a reusable cup or bottle. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
