The Wayland / HFC Striders Cross Country Festival is scheduled for October 11, 2026. The 2026 event will be the 20th running of the festival. The festival benefits the Wayland High School cross-country and track programs; past sponsors and participants have contributed over $40,000 to those programs. The festival was chosen to be part of the USATF-New England Grand Prix in 2025.

  • 3K for youth, with separate races for boys and girls and age categories for 10 and under, and 11 to 14
  • 5K open races, with separate races for women and men

The festival is presented by Middlesex Savings Bank. A group of sponsors supports awards and refreshments and helps keep registration fees low for participants. Awards have included gift certificates and trophies, and sponsors named in event materials include Marathon Sports, Saucony, Wegmans, Jack's Abby, The Run House, and others. Tackle the TARCtic Frozen Yeti at Hale Education in Westwood MA on Feb 7 and 8 2026 with a 30 hour challenge or a 15 mile looped race. Expect well marked winter trails, regular aid and proceeds supporting land conservation.

The F.I.T. 'Rock Trail Race will take place in Cumberland on Saturday 14 March 2026.

Run scenic singletrack loops around ponds and woodlands at Hale Education in Westwood, with a 6 hour endurance option or a 3.5 mile loop. Bring your own bottle for this cupless event and enjoy a laid back aid station at the start.

Scenic 10 mile out and back trail run along the Merrimack River on April 11, 2026, part of the North Shore Trail Series. Post race bagels, snacks and prizes await and all net proceeds support Merrimack River Trail maintenance.
