Wausaultra Single, Double, Limitless
Wausau, United States • 1-3 May 2026
Event Format
The WausaUltra is an event with three formats taking place on consecutive days. The Limitless format is a "backyard ultra" or "last runner standing" event. It starts on Friday and continues until one participant remains, or until Sunday at midnight. Runners complete a 4.167-mile loop, starting every hour on the hour.
The Solo and Double formats take place on Saturday. Participants run the same 4.167-mile loop either once (Solo) or twice (Double), for a total of up to 8.334 miles. A time limit of three hours is given for both distances.
A free kids' race, expected to be less than half a mile, is also held on Saturday for children aged 12 and under.
Course Information
All events use the same course, which is a 4.167-mile loop through Sylvan Park in Wausau, Wisconsin. The course is described as hilly and mostly trail, with multiple climbs and descents. The start, finish, and a home base area with facilities for participants are located in a small field within the park.
The course includes sections on a gravel path and single-track trails through woods. While the course description is provided, it is noted that it may be subject to change prior to race day. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
