Waugoshance Trail Run
Waugoshance Trail Run is a point-to-point trail event in Emmet County, Michigan on July 10, 2027. The route follows a section of the North Country Trail from Wycamp Lake to Mackinaw City and is more than 90% single track. The course passes rolling bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan, coastal forests, and several inland wilderness lakes. The 50K includes a five mile section on the Sturgeon Bay Trail. The half marathon starts near Goose Pond in Wilderness State Park.

The course is marked with colored flags, ribbons, and directional signs. Runners are bused from Mackinaw City School to the starts and gear bags are transported back to the finish. The event is cupless; all participants must carry a refillable cup and a 20 oz water bottle or other hydration system to refill at aid stations.
Aid station provisions vary by distance. The 50K has six remote aid stations plus the finish aid station, the marathon has five remote aid stations plus the finish, and the half marathon has two remote aid stations plus the finish. Stations provide water, an electrolyte drink called Gnarly Fuel2O, sweet and salty snacks, and fruit such as bananas and watermelon. There are no remote drop bags for the 50K and marathon; half marathon participants may leave items at the finish for return.
All finishers who complete their registered course receive a commemorative award. Podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance. Registration closes July 5, 2027, and the event has an entrant limit of 400. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
