Registration is online only and closes July 6, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Entrant capacity is limited (total limit 400; individual limits listed per distance on the event page). Race fees include bus transportation to the start, a race shirt if registered by the shirt deadline, post-race refreshments, and a custom finisher medallion. There are no refunds; event withdrawal or insurance policies are noted on the organizer page.
Course and logistics
The route follows a section of the North Country Trail from Cross Village toward Mackinaw City, with over 90% single-track trail, coastal forests, inland lakes, and bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan. The 50K includes a roughly five mile section on the Sturgeon Bay Trail. The half marathon begins near Goose Pond in Wilderness State Park. Runners are bused from Mackinaw City School to the starts; gear bags are transported back to the finish and a packet pickup is held the day before at Mackinaw City School.
Multiple aid stations are positioned along each course. Runners are required to carry a refillable 20 oz hydration system; aid stations provide water, electrolyte drink (Gnarly Fuel2O or similar), and energy gels. All finishers receive a commemorative finisher medallion and age-group awards are given. Dogs are allowed at the start/finish area but not on the race course.
