Waugoshance Trail Run in Emmet County, Michigan offers three distances:
- 50K
- Marathon
- Half Marathon
The route follows a section of the North Country Trail between Cross Village and Mackinaw City. The course is reported to be over 90% single track and passes rolling bluffs overlooking Lake Michigan, coastal forests and several inland wilderness lakes. The 50K includes a five mile section on the Sturgeon Bay Trail. The half marathon starts near Goose Pond in Wilderness State Park. Aid stations are positioned on the longer courses; the 50K has stations at approximately 4, 7, 11, 16, 22 and 27 miles. The half marathon has two aid stations near miles 4 and 9. All runners are required to carry a 20 oz water bottle or other functional hydration system to refill at aid stations. Aid stations will offer cold water, an electrolyte drink, and packaged fuel options.
Logistics include packet pickup the day before and shuttle transport to a ferry dock for participants using the ferry. Race numbers serve as round trip shuttle and ferry passes. A drop bag tent will be available near the start and finish area. All finishers receive a commemorative award and podium awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in each distance.
