Water & Windmill 10 Miler

The Water and Windmill 10 Miler is a guided trail run that covers approximately 10 miles (16 km) with 170 m of ascent. The route follows local canals and waterways, passes reservoirs and runs past Britain’s oldest post windmill. Runners pass through fields, climb hills and run alongside water with views up towards the Chilterns and from the hilltops.

The event is led by a run leader and includes trail running technique instruction and information about the local area and environment. Participants are grouped by ability; the event asks that runners can complete 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less. First-time trail runners are welcome. Entry includes a finisher’s medal and places are limited to 40.

The meeting location is Church Farm Cafe, Aldbury. Parking is available on site and the start is a 15 minute walk from the nearest station. Facilities at the venue include a cafe, toilets and a bag drop. The event is dog friendly when participants use cani-cross equipment; collars for running are not allowed.

Participants must arrange their own travel and are responsible for personal insurance. A list of mandatory kit is required for the run and organisers provide guidance for any kit questions. Previous participants have commented positively on the organisation and the guided nature of the run. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
