Water & Windmill 10 Miler
The Water & Windmill 10 Miler is a guided 10 mile trail run that follows canals, waterways and reservoirs in the Chilterns and passes Britain’s oldest post windmill. The route covers varied terrain, including fields, hillside sections and paths alongside water, with a total ascent of 170 m and a mapped distance of 16 km.
Participants run in ability groups; the event asks that runners can complete a 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less. Trail technique instruction is provided by an experienced guide, and the event includes information about the local area and environment. A trail leader accompanies the group throughout the run.
Facilities at the start location include a cafe, toilets and a bag drop. Parking is available on site and the start is approximately a 15 minute walk from the nearby rail station. The event is dog friendly for runners using cani cross equipment. Entry now includes a finisher’s medal as of 2026.
The organiser lists mandatory kit requirements for participants and requests that runners check those requirements in advance. The event operates with a limited number of spaces and there is a stated minimum group size for the event to proceed. Individual entry cost is shown as £34.
