Water & Windmill 10 Miler

The Water & Windmill 10 Miler is a guided trail run of 10 miles (16 km) with 170 m of ascent through the Chilterns. The route follows local canals and waterways, passes reservoirs and runs past Britain’s oldest post windmill. Runners move through fields, over hills and alongside water with views towards and from the tops of the Chilterns.

The event includes a run leader who stays with the group, trail technique instruction from an experienced guide and information about the local area and environment. Entry for 2026 now includes a finisher’s medal. Participants are grouped by ability and should be able to run 10 km on the road in 90 minutes or less; first-time trail runners are welcome.

Facilities at the start location include a cafe, toilets and a bag drop. Parking is on-site and the start is a 15 minute walk from the station; parking is free and toilets are available at the cafe. Dogs may run only with canicross equipment. Mandatory kit is required for the event; personal insurance and travel are not included.

There are 40 spaces available for the event. The run is scheduled for the morning and is delivered as a guided group experience. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
