Ware Festival of Running

Ware Festival of Running is scheduled for Sunday 5th July 2026 and offers road races along the River Lee Navigation between Hertford and Ware. Entries are open. Entry fees are shown as £25 for affiliated runners and £27 for unaffiliated runners. All adult finishers receive a T-shirt and a medal.

The event comprises multiple race distances:

  • 10 mile
  • 10k
  • Children's races

One hundred percent of the money raised goes to the Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. The charity provides a free Helicopter Emergency Medical Service for critically ill and injured people in Essex, Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. The charity states its operations cost more than £500,000 each month, which is just over £6 million each year, and it relies on public and business support with limited government funding.

The Canal & River Trust has permitted the event to use the River Lee Navigation for the route between Hertford and Ware. The event holds a UKA Race Licence for 2026, number 30307. Local organisations and businesses are acknowledged as sponsors, including Ware Town Council, Peter David Homes, Steven Oates, Westmill Farm, Coffee Lab, Kids Party Finder, Attwaters and Saffron Building Society.
