Vero Beach Octopus Ultra

Vero Beach Octopus Ultra
The Vero Beach Octopus Ultra is scheduled for July 11-12, 2026 at 255 Live Oak Dr., Vero Beach, Florida. The event is based on the grounds of the Environmental Learning Center, and a portion of proceeds will be donated to that organization.
The event uses a centralized base with eight out-and-back "Octo-Arms." Runners combine arms to reach different race distances; completing all eight arms within 32 hours earns the Octopus Buckle. The course organizers state that leaving the course for any reason results in a DNF.
Available distances include:
- 100 miles
- 100K
- 50 miles
- 50K
- Mini-Ultra (29.4 miles)
- Ultra Teaser (16.86 miles)
- Tentacle Heavy 5K Dash
Crewing is optional but strongly recommended because there are long sections without water access. The organizers reserve the right to remove participants at any time for health concerns. The event notes that the race environment—temperature, terrain and humidity—can add complications; it is advised that the 100 mile distance not be a first 100 mile attempt. If a runner attempts a first 100 mile here, an experienced 100 mile crew is required by the organizers.
The race originated in 2020. Sponsors listed include TrailToes and LMNT. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
