Tour of the Woods in Valley Park and Knightwood

Tour of the Woods is a 10 km mixed-terrain running event organised by Chandler's Ford Swifts Running Club in the Valley Park and Knightwood area. The course combines local trails and sections of road and is divided into five stages that range from 500 metres to 3 kilometres. Time spent resting between stages does not add to each participant's overall time.

The event uses chip timing and is marshalled on the course. A water station is provided at the halfway point. Prizes are awarded for the best overall running times. Food is available at the finish, with items such as a bap and cake mentioned.

The event includes a separate kids run called the Twiglet Tour. A portion of the event proceeds is donated to the Woodland Trust. The course and event setup are accessible by foot, bicycle and train.

Rules note that entrants must be aged 18 or over and that running with a dog is not permitted; dogs may be present at race headquarters. The event will be licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. Headphones are not permitted except bone-conducting devices when the participant can still hear marshal instructions and be aware of other hazards. Littering or damaging the woodlands can lead to disqualification. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
