Upriver Running Fall Races

UpRiver Running Fall Races : Thunder Bay, Kinsmen Park (Trowbridge)

This trail race series starts and finishes at Kinsmen Park (Trowbridge). Most of the courses run on single track through local trails including Shuniah Mines, Cascades Conservation Area, Centennial Park and Trowbridge Park trails.

Distances and course format

• 2.5 km Kids Trail Run
• 10 km single loop through Shuniah Mines
• 25 km one loop with two out-and-back sections, about 370 m climbing
• 50 km same 25 km loop completed twice

Event features and support The races are chip timed. Finishers receive a medal; the first finisher in each age division (39 and under, 40+ Masters, 50+ Grand Masters) in the 10K, 25K and 50K will receive an award. The event is cupless so participants must bring a reusable cup or bottle. Aid stations include Balsam, Cascades and Kinsmen with water, Tailwind mix, snacks, fruit, gels and salt capsules as listed.

Logistics and policies Race entries are non-refundable. Bibs are transferable until the registration deadline. A free shuttle will run to and from Current River Community Centre. The 50K has a total time cutoff of 9 hours with checkpoints at approximately 25 km, 31.2 km and 38.2 km. Youth aged 17 and under may register for any distance at a specific youth rate; the Kids Trail Run includes a finisher medal. Optional items such as shirts and vegan burritos are available for an extra fee via the event store, with ordering deadlines noted in registration windows.
