Trail Trek on Burke Mountain

The UltraTrax Burke Mountain is a timed mountain trek located in East Burke, Vermont. The event takes place on a loop course that traverses the ridges of the Northeast Kingdom. Participants navigate a variety of terrain, including forested single-track trails and old logging roads. The route also reaches rocky ridgelines and spruce-covered slopes that offer views of the surrounding valleys and mountain ranges.

Participants can choose from four different distance options:

  • 7 miles (one full loop)
  • 14 miles (two full loops)
  • 21 miles (three full loops)
  • 28 miles (four full loops)

The event is categorized as a timed trek rather than a traditional race, and walkers are permitted. All participants have a 10-hour time limit to complete their chosen distance. To increase the difficulty, participants have the option to carry a weighted vest or ruck weighing 10, 20, or 35 lbs.

Finishers receive a custom t-shirt and a velcro patch. Those who complete the 21-mile or 28-mile courses within the time limit are eligible for the UltraTrax Grey Wolf Medal. The event site at Sherburne Lodge Road features complimentary onsite parking. Following the trek, a post-event gathering includes food and refreshments at the base camp area.
