Kent Downs 50 Ultra Challenge

Date: Sat 10 October 2026. Basecamp: Kent Showground, Maidstone. The event offers looped route options staged from a Maidstone basecamp with parking and weekend camping packages available.

Available distances:

  • 50 km loop, approx 1000 m elevation
  • 25 km loop, approx 450 m elevation
  • 10 km basecamp loop, approx 200 m elevation

The main 50 km route runs anticlockwise on the North Downs Way to Blue Bell Hill, passes Aylesford, follows the River Medway to Mote Park for a halfway picnic, continues along the Len Valley Walk to Leeds Castle, and returns on the North Downs Way to the showground finish. The route is fully signed and supported by event crews.

Support and on-course services include covered rest stops roughly every 12.5 km with seating, toilets, medical and massage provision, and catering. Scheduled rest stop provision for the 50 km option lists snacks and hot drinks at 12 km, a picnic lunch at 25 km, snacks and hot drinks at 42 km, and a meal at 50 km. Finish provisions include a medal, finisher t shirt and a glass of fizz for finishers.

Categories and services: Solo start option, an Ultra March category for walkers aiming for time targets, and a Trailblazerz competitive running category.
