Trail Running at Oakes Quarry Park
The Turkey Trot event takes place at Oakes Quarry Park in Fairborn, Ohio. The venue features a landscape characterized by limestone cliffs, wooded sections, and views of the quarry. Participants navigate rugged terrain and scenic trails throughout the park grounds.
Participants can choose from several distance options depending on their preference:
- 1.55 Miles (Fun Run)
- 5 km (3.1 Miles)
- 10 km (6.2 Miles)
- 15 km (9.3 Miles)
The 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km events are classified as trail races, while the 1.55 mile distance is a standard running race. The course provides a varied environment for those interested in off-road running.
All participants who complete their chosen distance receive a finisher medal. Special awards are designated for the overall winners in the 5 km, 10 km, and 15 km categories. Registrations completed by November 15th include a short-sleeve event shirt, though shirts are not provided for registrations made after this date.
