Tunnel to Towers Arena Climb - Fredericksburg
The Tunnel to Towers Arena Climb is a stadium-based climb event held at Virginia Credit Union Stadium in Fredericksburg. It honors a New York City firefighter who lost his life on September 11, 2001 and supports first responders and military through fundraising for foundation programs, including Smart Home, Fallen First Responder, Gold Star Family, and veteran homelessness initiatives.
Participants climb the stadium aisles, following seating from section 1 through section 23, and repeat that circuit five times. The event is challenge by choice; climbers may stop at concourse landings or use the walking path around the concourse instead of stairs. The concourse is wheelchair accessible. There are several bailout points at the top of each aisle, and water stations are available at the start and end points of each round. Concessions operate in the middle of the route. Medics will be on site for emergencies.
Packet pick-up and T-shirt pick-up occur on Sunday, September 13 at Virginia Credit Union. All participants who register in advance will receive an event T-shirt; late registrants are not guaranteed a shirt. Cameras and video are permitted. First responders and military may wear turnout gear and Scott packs. The entry fee covers event production and a participant T-shirt and is not tax-deductible; donations above the entry fee are tax-deductible. Fundraising may continue after the event through December.
