TRR Murphys Creek Challenge - 2026
The Toowoomba Road Runners present the Murphys Creek Challenge, a trail running event at Murphys Creek Recreation Reserve, Dodts Road, Murphys Creek. The course is an out-and-back routed mainly on Penderest Road and other dirt roads and 4WD tracks through natural scenery. The route is described as undulating and includes a notable climb on Penderest Road for the longer distances.
Distances offered:
- 7 km - turnaround at 3.5 km
- 14 km - turnaround at 7 km
- 21.1 km (half marathon) - one 14 km lap then the 7 km lap
There are three water stops on course, located at each turnaround and at the 5 km point. Water and refreshments are also available in the start and finish area. The event has a three hour cut-off for participants to complete their distance. No dogs, prams, horses, bikes or scooters are permitted on the course.
Post-event facilities at the reserve include food and beverage stalls such as a sausage sizzle and a coffee van, plus TRR merchandise for sale. Race packs can be collected at designated locations the day before and at the reserve on event day. The event is sponsored by Pirtek Toowoomba.
