Trick or Trail 5K - Wells Reserve at Laudholm
Trick or Trail is the inaugural costumed 5K trail run held on October 31, 2026, at the Wells Reserve at Laudholm. The Reserve encompasses over 2,200 acres of conserved meadows, woods, wetlands, and a wild beach and serves as a National Estuarine Research Reserve with its headquarters listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Proceeds from the event support the Reserve's coastal ecology conservation, restoration, and stewardship work.
This is a timed trail race with costumes encouraged but not required. Water stations will be available at the halfway point and at the finish. Awards include medals for overall top finishers, best in age group for male and female categories, and best costume. There is no minimum age; participants under 18 must have a parent or guardian complete a waiver.
Reservations are required. Pricing is tiered: $35 through August 31, $45 from September 1 through September 30, and $55 from October 1 through race day. Bibs may be picked up the day before, Friday October 30, between 1:00 and 4:00 pm at the Visitor Center, or on race day between 7:30 and 8:45 am at the same location.
