5th Annual Tree Hugger Trail Run at Goodell Gardens

The event takes place on May 2, 2026, at Goodell Gardens & Homestead in Edinboro, Pennsylvania. The program includes a 5K run or walk on natural trails and a separate kids run.

The 5K course follows a variety of trail surfaces and settings: squishy soil, winding woodland paths, open fields, boardwalk sections, and outdoor art installations. Organizers note a mud warning because the route is true trail terrain and sections may be wet or muddy. The final route and exact distance will be confirmed in spring based on trail conditions.

The kids race is a short junior course of about 0.75 miles designed for younger participants.

Distances:

  • 5K run/walk (approximately 3.1 miles)
  • Kids Run (about 0.75 miles)

Awards and participant items are planned for finishers. Top overall runners receive a native tree to plant, age category winners receive a rustic tree-cookie medal, every participant receives a custom wooden finisher token, and all kids finishers receive a special medal. Proceeds support Goodell Gardens & Homestead, a public garden, arboretum, and community gathering space in Edinboro. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
