Oil Creek 5 & 13 Stacked Trail Races
The Oil Creek 5 & 13 Stacked Trail Races take place at the Drake Well Museum and Park in Titusville, Pennsylvania. This event utilizes the Gerard Hiking Trail and additional trail networks within the surrounding Oil Creek State Park. Participants run through a landscape that chronicles the history of the petroleum industry.
The event offers several race distances:
- 13 miles: Open to runners aged 16 and older.
- 5 miles: Open to runners aged 13 and older.
- Stacked Race Challenge: A combined entry for both the 5-mile and 13-mile distances.
- 2 Mile Youth Race: Designed for children aged 12 and under.
The races are scheduled 90 minutes apart, allowing participants to compete in the Stacked Race Challenge by finishing the 5-mile race before the 13-mile race begins. Both individual races have a 5-hour time limit.
The 5-mile course starts at the Jersey Bridge and follows the Gerard Hiking Trail, eventually turning toward Boughton Bridge before returning via Museum Lane. The 13-mile course follows an extended route that reaches Miller Farm and its bridge before reconnecting with the Gerard Trail. Both distances conclude in the main parking area of the Drake Well Museum and Park.
All participants receive a finisher's award. Those who complete the Stacked Race Challenge receive an additional commemorative item. Post-race refreshments and food are provided to all participants. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
