Traprock 50

Simsbury, United States • 18 Apr 2026

Event Overview

The Traprock 50 offers two trail running distances on a looped course: a 50K (three loops) and a 17K (one loop). The event takes place at Penwood State Park in Bloomfield, Connecticut. It is part of the Blue-Blazed Trail Running Series.

Course Description

Each loop is approximately 10.5 to 11 miles. The course is described as rolling, consisting of a mix of technical single track on the Metacomet Trail and double-track forest roads. The terrain can be extremely rocky. Organizers state the event is a test of fitness and mental stamina and recommend entrants have recent marathon-running experience. There is a 9-hour cutoff for the 50K distance.

Registration and Logistics

Registration operates on a first-come, first-served basis with an automated waitlist. The event has a cupless policy; runners must bring their own cup or bottle for aid stations. Chip timing will be provided. Technical shirts are available for separate purchase. The event is organized by the CT Trailmixers, a non-profit, volunteer-run club. Proceeds support local organizations like the Simsbury Land Trust and the Connecticut Forest & Parks Association. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
