Traprock 50
The event takes place April 17, 2027 in Bloomfield, CT at Penwood State Park and is organized by the CT Trailmixers, a volunteer non profit trail running club. Two distance options are offered:
- 50K
- 17K
The course is a loop of approximately 10.5 to 11 miles per loop. The 17K uses one loop and the 50K uses three loops. About half the course is technical single track on the Metacomet Trail; the remainder is double-track. Much of the route consists of rolling forest roads or single track that can be extremely rocky.
Race operations and policies noted for the event include a nine hour cutoff on the 50K, a cupless format requiring runners to bring their own cup or handheld bottle, and shirts available for separate purchase. When the event reaches capacity a waitlist begins; selections are made in registration order and selected runners have two days to respond. Refund and transfer rules are: cancel before March 1 for a 50% refund, no refunds after that date, and no bib transfers or deferrals.
Course details remain fixed for this edition, with the power line hill retained. A course map is available on AllTrails.
