The Trapp Lodge Mountain Marathon takes place October 18, 2025 at Trapp Family Lodge in Stowe, Vermont (700 Trapp Hill Rd). The event offers two race distances on lodge trails: a full marathon and a half marathon. All runners receive an event shirt, a race packet, and post-race food. Prizes are awarded to the top three overall male and female finishers in each distance. Registration closes October 16.
Course and logistics
The course is a 13.1-mile loop on the Trapp Lodge trail system. It is roughly two thirds wider double-track trails and dirt roads, and one third narrow, serpentine single track. The route includes rugged dirt and gravel sections, steep climbs and descents, and a scrambling climb to the summit of Round Top Mountain with views of Mount Mansfield. Runners gain and lose about 1,900 ft of elevation per loop (about 3,800 ft total for the full marathon). The last four miles are downhill.
Aid stations are located at approximately miles 4 and 9, with an additional halfway aid/drop-bag location for full marathon runners; aid stations provide water, flavored hydration, gels, snacks, and basic first aid. The race is cup-free; runners must carry a bottle, pack, or collapsible cup. Restrooms are available at the Cabin Aid Station and at the start/finish.
