Trailwalker - Gurkha Welfare Trust
Trailwalker is a team endurance event that challenges teams to cover 100 km along the South Downs Way, following historic paths over chalk hills and coastal views. The 2026 event takes place across a weekend in September 2026 and offers a non-stop team format with a 30-hour cut-off for standard teams of four plus support crew. A new Relay option for 2026 allows teams of 6 to 12 participants to share the same 100 km route.
Teams meet support crews at multiple manned checkpoints along the route where water is available and crews can park and resupply. Organisers provide a printed route guide, a bespoke t-shirt, a medal, fully signed directions, toilets on course, showers at the finish, and hot meals at designated stations, including a meal at one of the later checkpoints and a Gurkha curry at the finish at Brighton Racecourse.
The event combines physical endurance with fundraising: teams are encouraged to raise funds for The Gurkha Welfare Trust, which provides long-term support to Gurkha veterans, their families and communities. The Brigade of Gurkhas and volunteers are present at checkpoints during the event, and an event guide and route GPX are available to help teams prepare.
