Tough Tiger

The Tough Tiger is an adventure-based running event held in Barrington, Rhode Island. The event is hosted by the Hampden Meadows Teacher Organization and focuses on kindergarten through 5th grade students and their families, though participation is open to individuals of all ages.

Participants can choose from two different route options:

  • 1.5 mile loop through neighborhood streets and nearby woods.
  • A shorter adaptive course that remains on neighborhood streets and sidewalks for increased accessibility.

The shorter course includes adaptive features to accommodate a variety of needs. Both routes begin and end at Hampden Meadows School. Participants are not required to select a specific distance during registration and may decide which course to complete on the day of the event.

The race utilizes electronic timing provided by Presidential Timing. For safety reasons, dogs and rollerblades are not permitted on the course. While headphones are allowed, the event organizers discourage their use. The first 1,000 registered participants receive a performance T-shirt, which is distributed on-site. The event also features a raffle with various themed baskets. Packet pick-up and registration take place at the school on the morning of the event.
