Tough Tiger

Tough Tiger is an adventure-based obstacle course event held at Hampden Meadows School, 297 New Meadow Road, Barrington, RI. The event is geared toward kindergarten through fifth grade students and their families, though people of other ages and abilities may participate. Two course options are offered:

  • 1.5 mile loop through neighborhood streets and nearby woods
  • shorter adaptive course on neighborhood streets and sidewalks

Both courses start and finish at Hampden Meadows School. Participants may choose on the day to complete the longer course, the shorter adaptive course, or both; no course preference is required at registration. The shorter course includes additional adaptive features to support a range of abilities. If it is unclear which course is most appropriate for an individual, the organizer suggests contacting Hampden Meadows School for guidance.

Race day registration and packet pick-up take place at Hampden Meadows School. The first 1,000 registrants will receive a performance Tough Tiger T shirt, available on the day of the event. The event includes electronic timing provided by Presidential Timing. For safety, rollerblades and dogs are prohibited on the course. Headphones are permitted but are strongly discouraged; wearers are asked to be courteous to others. The event is hosted by the Hampden Meadows Teacher Organization PTO.

Registration opens March 1, 2026 and closes May 10, 2026. Published registration fees vary by age category and by date of registration. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
