Course and Terrain

The Torc Wood mountain run takes place in County Kerry. The event has two courses: a long course of 8.80 km and a short course of 4.00 km. The long course involves a climb of 285 meters. The route is fully marked, and GPS devices are not allowed. The terrain includes forest roads, technical single tracks like The Ledge, Murphs, and Bog Holes, and sections described as fast downhill and a flat forest road sprint.

Event Logistics

The event is scheduled for a Sunday in late March. Juniors and short course participants have a separate start time. Entry costs vary: €7 for seniors, €5 for over 65s and under 18s. There is an entry limit of 120 participants.

Mandatory Kit

The event requires Level A Mandatory Kit. This includes a showerproof, windproof jacket. All runners must bring these items to the race. The final decision on what must be carried during the race is made on the day based on conditions. Random kit checks may be carried out.
