Course Details

There are two race distances:

  • 11.50 km with 300 m of climb.
  • A short course of 5.00 km.

The route uses fire roads, open mountain, and forest trails. It includes two river crossings and passes through farmland. Organizers note the trail is wet and recommend good, grippy shoes.

The course is fully marked, but the use of GPS devices is not allowed. The event is part of the Coillte Summer/Autumn Trail League for Munster.

Mandatory Kit and Early Start

All runners must bring a showerproof, windproof jacket to the race. The actual kit to be carried will be finalized on the day based on conditions. Runners must have a means to carry all required kit. Failure to have the required items may result in denied entry or disqualification.

An early start is available at 10:30 for anyone who feels the extra time will help.

Registration opens at 9:30 AM. Parking is at Knockacummer Wind Farm Ltd in Rockchapel, County Cork. A vendor named Insta Coffee will be present offering coffee and treats.
