3 Counties Trail / S. Luachra

The event in County Cork is scheduled for Sunday 5 July 2026. It is a trail race with a main course and a short course and an overall ascent around 300 m for the main route.

The route is fully marked and GPS devices are not allowed. The difficulty rating is 7, described as moderate terrain with 200 to 500 m of ascent and a length greater than 10 km. The race is part of the Coillte Summer/Autumn Trail League in Munster.

The course uses fire roads, open mountain tracks and forest trails. There are two river crossings and sections across farmland. Sections of the trail are wet, so shoes with good grip are essential.

Mandatory kit is Level A Basic and includes a showerproof, windproof jacket which must be carried for the race. The exact kit to be carried may be finalised on the day and will be advised at registration. Failure to have required items may lead to denied entry or disqualification and random kit checks may be carried out.

Entry fees are €7 for seniors and €5 for over 65s and under 18s. Entries open 29 July 2026 and close 4 July 2026 and places are limited to 250. Parking is at Knockacummer Wind Farm, Rockchapel, Co.
