Kerry Way Ultra
The Kerry Way Ultra is a long-distance race that follows the full 200 km route of the Kerry Way around the Iveragh Peninsula. The event is based at Killarney Racecourse, which serves as the registration, start and finish location. Entry is limited to a maximum of 200 competitors for the main Ultra and 500 across all event formats combined. Qualification requires completion of two marathons or one 50 mile ultra or one 100 km ultra in the previous calendar year. Refunds and deferrals are not accepted.
Registration takes place on the evening before the race at Killarney Racecourse, where mandatory gear is checked and GPS trackers are issued and fitted. Trackers must be attached to the rucksack and kept away from mobile phones and emergency foil blankets. Competitors may use support crews at designated crew stops and a committee-operated bag-drop will deliver small numbered bags to specified crew locations. Walking poles are permitted but may not be left in drop bags. There are cut-off points and spot gear checks along the route. Distances between key crew stops are listed below.
