Tigard Metrogaine 2026

Tigard Metrogaine is a score-O metrogaine based at Summerlake City Park in Tigard, OR (45.437, -122.811). The event uses a new 23 square kilometer urban map at 1:15,000 scale with 10-meter contours and covers the Summerlake and Bull Mountain communities plus western King City.

Participants choose one of three time-limit courses and try to find as many controls as possible in any order. Controls are verified and timing is done with the MapRun® phone app. Solo competitors and teams are permitted; team members must remain together while competing. A Kidd-O course is available for children, who may start at any time.

Scoring is by total points for controls found; ties on the same course are broken by overall time. The point value of each control is determined by the tens digit of its control number (for example, control 38 is worth 30 points). A point penalty applies for finishing late, so participants are advised to monitor their time.

Registration is managed through the Orienteering USA event system; a waiver and payment complete registration. Fees vary by age and course, with member discounts and separate early and late pricing. The event is planned as almost all-weather and may be postponed if dangerous conditions would affect travel or safety. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
