Three Blind Mice 50K/25K : Penticton, BC
The race takes place on the Three Blind Mice trail network, starting and finishing at the Poplar Grove Road parking lot near Penticton. Two distance options are offered:
- 25K
- 50K
The 25K has approximately 3400 ft of elevation gain and the 50K about 7000 ft. The course is mostly single track with sections that are technical and others that are more flowy. All runners complete an initial loop that includes Southern Dancer, Bronco, Rainbow, Neverland and Yellow Brick Road; 50K runners continue with a second loop using Marmot, Tripod, Sidewinder, Rusty Muffler, Corral, Fred and Slabs.
All registration fees will be donated to Penticton Search and Rescue. Registered runners receive a t-shirt if registered by July 1 and a race souvenir; medals are awarded to all finishers.
There are two aid stations, at Rusty Muffler (around 14K) and Pearly Gates (around 24K). Aid stations will provide water, electrolyte drink, gels, fruit, PB&J sandwiches, pickles and other items. The event is cupless; runners must carry a reusable cup. 50K runners may use one small drop bag transported to the Pearly Gates station.
Parking at the start/finish is limited to roughly 30 spots. Race rules address safety, visible bibs, staying on marked trails, aid only at designated stations, discouraged use of headphones, no pacers, no dogs and adherence to course cut-offs.
