Fat Dog 120 Trail Race : course and route overview

Fat Dog 120 offers multiple trail race options in southwestern British Columbia, including a main 120 mile event and shorter 100 km and 40 mile options. The 2026 edition is listed as sold out.

The 120 mile course begins near Keremeos in Cathedral Provincial Park and finishes in E.C. Manning Provincial Park. The point-to-point route is approximately 124 miles long with cumulative elevation gain around 26,000 feet (about 8,000 m). Most of the course is remote, technical single track with five distinct climbs, a river crossing at the Pasayten River (guide rope provided), and about 13 miles of road (paved and gravel). Overall cutoff time is 48 hours.

The 100 km course starts at the Cascade Rest Area, follows the Skagit Bluffs trail then joins the later section of the 120 mile route. Total gain is approximately 14,000 feet (4,000 m) with about 8 miles of road. Overall cutoff time is 26 hours.

The 40 mile course also begins at the Cascade Rest Area and finishes at Lightning Lake. Total gain is approximately 8,800 feet (2,500 m) with about 8 miles of road. Overall cutoff time is 18 hours.
