The Wild Turkey 5k and 10k Trail Race

The Wild Turkey is a trail running event at Beals Point near Folsom Lake, Granite Bay, California, held on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 2025. The event benefits Folsom's Hope and includes a post-race gathering with refreshments and music.

Course and distances:

  • Trail 5K
  • Trail 10K
  • 1K free kids fun run for children under 6

The 5K is described as stroller-friendly, though the 2025 route includes a stretch of doubletrack trail that makes part of the route slightly bumpier. There is one aid station on course; 5K runners pass it once and 10K runners pass it twice. This is a cupless event, so participants must provide a cup or bottle to drink at the aid station.

Logistics notes: packet pick up is available on race morning at the start area. Parking at Beals Point is listed as twelve dollars or free with a Poppy pass.

The event materials mention volunteer opportunities and a kids t-shirt option for the free fun run, while the primary fundraising purpose is support for Folsom's Hope. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
