Twmbarlwm Terror is a 7 mile multi-terrain race held in Risca, Newport (Risca Leisure Centre, NP11 6GH) on Sunday 2 November 2025. The route runs across footpaths, open fields, country lanes and woodland to the Twmbarlwm peak and back to Risca. The course has approximately 1000 ft of total elevation and is described as having very challenging terrain underfoot. The 2025 edition is the sixth running of the event and it replaced the previous Bog & Bryn race from 2018 onwards.

The race start area includes car parking at Risca Leisure Centre. Competitors are offered complimentary tea, coffee and cake. There is a refreshment station on the route, medical and rescue cover, and changing, showers and toilets are available. There is no bag drop facility.

Entry and race details

Online entry closes at midnight on 31 October 2025, with on-the-day entries accepted in cash only if the race limit of 200 has not been reached. Entry fees are £15 for those aged 17 and over and £13 for affiliated club members. Numbers are collected on the day.

Prizes are awarded by category, including first male and female and age-group categories (senior, veteran, super veteran and 60+). A cash prize is offered for a new male or female course record. A Welsh Athletics permit is pending. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.

Part of the MacTuffX UK series in Stoke Gifford, this event combines ten Xercises with repeated runs across solo, doubles and five person relay formats. A LITE weight division is available and all entrants must be 18 and above.
