The Trout Brook 10-miler

The Trout Brook is a 10-mile trail race held at Willow River State Park in Hudson, Wisconsin (1034 County Highway A). The course leaves the park's wider trails for single-track running, with tight lines through trees, sustained climbs, a stair section, and a waterfall along the route. The race takes place in October when the leaves are turning.

On arrival, participants are asked to park in the large parking area near the visitor center and beach and pick up bibs and race-day swag at the large picnic shelter. Restrooms are available at the start area; an additional portable toilet will be at the aid station.

There is an aid station at roughly 4.2 miles supplying water, Heed, and individually wrapped snacks, and offering one restroom. This is a cupless event; participants should bring a full water container or bladder and may refill at the midway aid station.

If a runner must withdraw, they should remove their bib and give it to the race director or an aid station captain. Leaving the course without notifying officials may affect future participation. The race director may delay, suspend, or cancel the event for safety reasons; refunds or transfers are not allowed. The organizer states a commitment to inclusion and seeks participant feedback to improve events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
