Icebox 480/240
Icebox is a time-based trail event on single-track at Whitetail Ridge in River Falls, WI. Participants choose either a 4-hour (240 minutes) or 8-hour (480 minutes) challenge and complete as many laps as they can on a roughly 5 mile loop. A one-mile bonus loop opens in the final hour to allow extra distance near the end of the clock.
Runners start within a designated start window and must record their own start and finish times on a large display board at the event. Drop bags may be kept at the start area for use between laps. Pacers are not allowed; crews may provide aid only near aid stations or the drop bag area.
The event is cupless; participants should bring a water container to refill at aid stations. The aid station supplies typical snacks and later, more substantial options such as chicken noodle soup, quesadillas, and mashed potatoes. Portable toilets are available at the start point.
Parking is permitted only on nearby streets; business parking lots are off limits. There is no immediate camping at the venue; Willow River State Park is about 14 miles away. The race director may delay, suspend, or cancel the event for safety reasons. If the event is canceled or changed for safety, no refunds or transfers are allowed.
The organizer states an inclusion commitment to create an environment where all participants and volunteers feel welcome and safe. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
