The TFG Gin & Chocolate Trail Races

This event is a trail race through the Peak District National Park, starting at Errwood Reservoir and climbing to the Cat & Fiddle Inn and Forest Distillery. The organiser offers two measured courses with stated ascent figures and a distinctive timed stop at the summit.

Distances offered include:

  • 10 km (325 m ascent)
  • 17 km (505 m ascent)

At the Cat & Fiddle Inn race time is paused for a ten minute VIP stop at a distillery aid station. After the stop runners restart their time and continue on differing routes: the long course passes the highest point in Cheshire and provides wide views toward the Dark Peak, Manchester, the Forest of Bowland and the Clwydian Range; the short course follows a downhill section back toward Errwood Reservoir.

Finishers receive a complimentary treat from Forest Distillery and luxury chocolates from Hot Chocolaterie. The event supports local food and drink producers and contributes to local trail repair and nature regeneration through a partnership with the Peak District Foundation. Because wildfire has affected the area, entries made before 31/07/26 include a £2 donation to the Peak District Foundation Wildfire Appeal.

Both routes require mandatory kit. The minimum age to enter is 18 years. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
